Freedom Fest 2013

Welcome to the web site for the fifth annual Freedom Fest concert and fireworks show! With over 2,500 visitors last year, this family-friendly event has partnered with the Winchester Parks and Recreation and is being held at Lykins Park in Winchester, KY on June 29th, 2013.

Come early, bring some friends, and be ready to watch two amazing bands and the best fireworks show in the area! By the way, did we mention it’s free and there's free parking?

Bring your blanket, lawn chairs, and a friend. ADMISSION IS FREE!!!  For more information, contact the church at (859) 744-2387.

FREEDOMFEST  10K (and 5k relay)

We are excited to announce that the 2nd annual Freedom Fest 10K Run/Walk & Relay will be on June 29, 2013 starting at 8:00 a.m.! Last year’s event was a huge success, raising enough funds to send 50 care packages to deployed service men and women as they serve our country far away from their families and loved ones. This year we hope to triple that number! We all love to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, cookouts, and concerts — this year, kick off your celebration by do something for our troops as they are spending the holiday serving our country!For more information check out FACEBOOK page or register HERE!








 
 
 
 
 
 

#BeyondTheWalls

#BeyondTheWalls is the name we have placed on the vision for our church here at the First Church of God.  It means we are going to be more outward focused on the needs of our community and the people who live in it.  People need Jesus and we want to show them His love by reaching out to our community to serve.

Many in our community saw this logo for the first time on our red shirts as we serve during our community project day. But many others have been seeing the impact of our Journey Groups as they have been going #BeyondTheWalls since this past fall.  Journey Groups is our small group ministry and our groups have really taken to the vision  #BeyondTheWalls.  Our groups have served our community in schools, to the homeless, to newborns, the needy during the holidays, to the sick, to the addicted and really to just anyone who might need to feel the love of our Lord Jesus.  Even people like you and me!!!

If going #BeyondTheWalls sounds like something interesting to you, then we would LOVE to have you contact us or come visit us here at the First Church of God!!!  We are sure once you get to know the people attending and serving here, you will feel at home as part of the Family.  Because that is what we are here, Family, and that is our focus as we go #BeyondTheWalls.  More than anything here, we want to be known as the church that is Family focused! We want to provide families a safe environment to find a solid faith foundation and encourage them as they grow in that faith and in their relationships with each other and their God!!!
